What is Calibration?
Calibration is a comparison of measuring equipment (thermometer, data logger, probe etc.) against a Reference Standard of higher accuracy to detect, correlate, adjust, rectify and document the accuracy of the instrument being compared (=calibrated)
Why is Calibration required?
All temperature & humidity measuring sensors [probes, data loggers etc.] are subject to drift and therefore require calibration to ensure that they remain within their stated accuracy. Annual calibration by an external laboratory has become industry standard – recommended by manufacturers and required by regulatory authorities.
How can Rototherm help you to comply with the Calibration requirements of your Industry?
- We provide a free reminder service which assists you in managing this aspect of your business.
- All calibrations are traceable to National and International Standards.
- Calibrations are performed in line with Rototherm Calibration SOPs within the scope of our ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
- We offer two types of Calibration Services
1 ) Return to Rototherm Calibration Laboratory
This service is available when you wish to have temperature probes, humidity probes/meters, temperature or manually downloaded data loggers calibrated. Simply send your temperature/ humidity loggers and meters in to Rototherm and we will take it from there.
If you wish to avail of this service please send your sensors to Rototherm using our Calibration Request Form, packing in accordance with the packing instructions on the Calibration Request Form and despatching by registered post or courier tracked service.
2) On-Site Calibration
This typically suits a site which has a temperature monitoring system (as opposed to individual manual read/download sensors) or a site with a large number/variety of sensors which it is not feasible to send away from site for calibration.
Rototherm calibration technicians arrive on site with all required equipment and perform the calibrations in accordance with the requirements of the customer and the relevant regulatory authorities. For example when performing on-site calibration on sites audited by the HPRA/MHRA/FDA etc Rototherm’s –HPRA Compliant- calibration service is offered as standard . This service complies with the requirements of up to date HPRA guidelines. This involves conducting a Risk Assessment and providing replacement loggers to ensure continuous monitoring of all locations during the calibration period.
